Every filmmaker has been there. You work hard on your film for months, sometimes years! It has everything. Great editing, crisp sound, fantastic story and true actors. You have a screening and the fans love it! Over the next few weeks you receive e-mails from actors wanting to be in your next film. Letters from fans wanting to buy a copy of your film. Then you pick a film festival to enter your film into. This is the point in which every filmmaker sweats. Will it be accepted?
I have won some film festivals and sometimes my films were rejected but rejected for good reason! The other films were better. Period. What really urks me is when a clearly lower quality film gets accepted and your film with all of the best qualities does not. Now when I say lower quality films I do not mean it to be by my opinion. I mean when it's painfully obvious. I think there has to be a little politics involved just like anything else.
Well. What's your take?
